Default Re: Importing a project A from Canada

Jack you DO need a title or we won't let you bring it in. The only way to get it done right is to-I know this is going to suck-but you have to have a register it in Canada. That will be your 'title' as they don't use a separate piece of paper like we do. Then when you cross the border they may make you 'import' it there or at the nearest Customs office.

There you will show proof that you bought the car and own it. You will have to pay an importation fee-unless the car originally came from the USA. But you will have to be able to prove it. Then you can go to your local DMV and get it registered. This is how I registered vehicles when I did it for two years. Now, that being said each port is a little different and a land border may do things a bit different than my port. Your best bet is to call the border crossing where you will go through and ask them what documentation you will need and get a name.
