As mentioned above it is a good idea to use a gauge even though pressure is low...

1. Whenever you remove the oil pan for any reason it is good insurance to remove the four bolts on bottom of oil pump and clean the filter screen.


2. The 1932 service bulletins mention that a plugged filter screen was found to be the major cause of MANY failures of engines sent to Ford rebuilding facilities as cores!

Sludge in engines from infrequent oil changes will plug the screens.

3. Timing gear failures with fiber gears will plug the screen with debris...
