Default Re: What I Did on My Lunch Hour

Hi Bruce, this weekend we will be playing in the garage again. Last weekend my niece got married so there was no time. I've been reading about your rewire of the '39 LZ with respect to the ignition resistors. My LZ had been converted to 12 volts negative ground with a one wire alternator before I got it. I kept the 12 volt system but installed a generator (converted to 12 volts) and voltage regulator, along with having the coil redone by Skip Haney. As for the ignition resistors, the 12 volt conversion, that had been done, used the OEM resistors with an additional late model Chrysler resistor in the circuit. I've replicated what had been done, as it worked fine however, I haven't fired the car up yet! I hope to finish the installation of the headlight switch and instrument cluster this weekend, as well as get some additional work done on Don's '50 rag top. After that, it's PIZZA time!
