If installed correctly they will just show a little purple glow with the tail lights on.The red should overcome the blue.IF installed correctly.Then,when you step on the brake that blue dot jumps out as a bright purple light.Huge contrast between the tail and brake light on older cars.The blue dots really perform well in a 55 Chevy tail light.The light that shows up out of one of them looks like a modern high output LED.
