Default ID year of engine? 49-50 or 51-53

The engine that has been fitted to my 33 Ford BB truck is an 8BA. The stamped number on the block top is 32SF114492. The engine was rebuilt by FOMOCO in Boston years ago. Has 10 over pistons and 1 slightly burned exhaust valve. I overheated it and blew head gasket. My reason for asking is that MAC/Eckler's shows 2 different exhaust valves. One set is 49-50, the other is 51-53. Both show the same size in the listing. Is there a real difference and does it matter which one I use? I know the guides are the one piece guide and no O-ring. like late guides. Also has anyone found a good tool to compress the valve springs? I am using a modified small crowbar notched to fit around the valve stem. Thanks, John.
