If your timing is 180 degrees off, it doesn't matter a rat's @$$. Simply set the engine at TDC on #1 using the pin and reset the timing. That will involve turning the points cam on the shaft to the correct position which will take care of the 180#.
It would be a fluke if you managed to put the drive gears back in the same mesh as they came apart. If that drive comes apart, you will nearly always have to retime the engine.
