The wood frame around the window goes down inside the drain pan. So you should be able to mount the regulator to the wood and install the window side channels to the wood before fitting down inside drain pan. The front lip of the drain pan screws to the top back edge of the package tray. I used a couple of wood screws to secure the back of the drain pan to the wood window frame that faces the trunk lid.
