Since there is no actual "seal" at the rear main, no type of mouse milk will help. Oil that finds its way to the back of the rear main drains back into the pan through a hole in the bearing cap. The slinger on the crank flings any oil that gets on it into the groove in the block and cap, but the slinger does not touch any part of that groove.
There is always a little oil weeping out past this "labyrinth", so backyard engineers are continually trying to "improve" the original design (with mixed results!).
