Friends i have the same identical problem with the windshield on my unrestored 30 Briggs Town Sedan. I pulled the windshield and placed a new gasket between the header and the hinge. It closed fine before placing the new gasket. Upon disassembly there was no gasket so I placed one.... ***Mistake,*** I believe there was never a gasket there. I am going to try using a fender welting when I take the rubber gasket out and see what happens,, Time will tell. I may opt to leave the gasket out if the fender welt does not solve the problem. No end to these LITTLE issues we can encounter with these old girls..
