They never were correct. I bought a pair in 1982 though I don't know how much earlier they were available. They fit Gaslight running board aprons somewhat better than originals. The main thing was to use them in pairs as the front droops compared to originals. This is not to say that current production is even worse. For those wondering why they are so bad, supposedly Gaslight had the dies made based on a NROS Fostoria fender which was manufactured back-in-the-day and obviously not the same as the original Ford.
