Default Re: New Ride, ‘40 pickup

In case anybody is interested thought I'd give an update on vehicle Circa & build trail, it is a bit of a Frankenstein but still love it. All sheet metal is great, seems to have been a southern truck. As best I can figure from inspection & all u'r info & info gained on The Hamb. The Bed and rear fenders appear to be '42-'47 two clues, no welded over fab of gas fill hole in area of left rear fender & spare tire mount plate on drivers side of bed. The frame's not an F1 rather is a '42 to '47 utilizing oak spacers to accommodate cab & bed to frame alignment w modified power steering & disc brakes. Cab and front clip are '40-'41 clue is no gas fill hole on passenger side rear of cab & no indication of after fab weld work, also as mentioned here hood and grill trim indicate '41hood & grille. Originally titled as a reconstruction in 1995 in Kentucky and VIN is assigned by Ky. as a 1940. If other info becomes available I'll share it.
