With Dan Partain's help, I now understand how the wood sill and bed is attached to the frame. The picture Ron posted above is what I took after Dan explained how it went together. Dan did tell me that there should be large D washers used between the head of the two bolts on the inside of the wood (on each side - four total) sill in the picture above. I don't have the D washers, but can make some if need be. I am posting a picture of the D washers below in case anyone else would like to see what they look like.
