Not sure what Clive is saying by never seeing a 1/2" thread. They're all 1/2" by design.
I wonder if the fix was to take them to 9/16"

I've never had a stromberg, can I assume the thread is the same as a 94? 1/2"-20?

I'm just going by my 94 experience.
