I just noticed something and I should know the answer to but do not know. I have several transmissions and all but two of them have the four holes that accept the throw-out bearing assembly tube as they should.

What are the two transmissions which do not have the four holes used for?

Just how was the throw-out bearing assembly tube attached?

They are the later transmissions with the thick bearing flanges on each end.
