Default Re: Body Badges on Australian assembled Fords

Body Badge for the 1935, 1936, 1937 and 1938 Fords made in Australia.
While all Fords manufactured in the USA and Canada are all steel, that was not the case in Australia. All 1930 through 1934 Ford Bodies made in Australia are full of Wood. That includes the Floor, Doors etc. When the all new 1935 Fords were released in Australia, they did away with the wooden framed bodies, except on the Roadsters, Phaetons and Roadster Utes. To advertise this new feature, Ford Australia designed an all new Badge to herald the fact that they were All-Steel. Ford chose to attach these badges with a nut on the end. They were much easier to fit than the previous one that was soldered on. Please refer to the above pictures that show the front of the new Badge, as well as the rear showing the Attachments. the last photo show the Badge as fitted to a 1936 Ford. These Badges were not fitted to the 1935 and 1936 Roadsters, Phaetons or Roadster Utes, as they continued to use wood in the Doors etc.
