Hi, Jack 34PU, my PU came with the 351 and automatic with a 9" with 3.25 gears. If I do my math right, the standard 3 speed and 3.78 rear has a combined ratio of between 10.54 and 13.23 depending on the first gear ratio. My 3.76 first gear and 3.25 rear give a 12.22 ratio. I'm thinking i will be OK. If it needs to go lower, there are plenty of gears out there for the 9 inch. I would have liked something lighter than the 9" but it was in when I got it home. Bought the adapter on E-bay and don't really know which it is. Fits good. Al K,
