The silicon coated head gasket has explicit instructions to retorque cold...even requiring it to be done after sitting overnight. That instruction is only for the Silicon coated gasket and may be different for the Copper gaskets or the Best gasket. I always torque and retorque cold, and have not had a failure of a head gasket.
