I do not think you can remove the radiator without removing the grill shell, if I understand your question. At least I darn sure wouldn't want to try it. Shell fits over radiator and is bolted to radiator. Easy to remove bolts through radiator/fender/grill splash pan and lift the whole thing out as a unit. Of course you have to remove the radiator steady rods, hoses, and bolts that hold radiator to frame. Not too difficult a job.
