ok got the cover On! The problem was the reverse slot alignment. I finally got them to align and it fell in. Hoping this nightmare was over - I was disappointed that I have no shift pattern after installing the stick. Something is obviously not lined up right. Off with the tower again....... All those other posts made it sound so easy....
