Ford starting using them in the Model A era one the windshield only with the exception of special order cars and town cars. They were applied to all the glass from 1932 up till the present day, with the exception of 1932 standards and other odd ball vehicles such as school buses. Basically any piece of glass that was safety glass rather than the ordinary plate glass, got a bug or marking of some sort and still does to this day
