Hey Mr. K,
It appears to be a multi-level type of knowledge. Have always appreciated that you seemed to know the "reason" or "logic" behind something in question.

Now you see why I participate so much, everyday I learn something new. I had no idea there were special shocks for the 61/64 PC. You would think that the same were also used on the HP cars but wasn't.
Don't know WHY the difference. When Ms. American's Front Suspension was rebuilt a relatively short while back, NEW Shocks were installed all around. It seems that since that FIRST set of Rear Shocks were acquired, that the rarity of them has lessened because when they were last gotten, there were more choices available. The ones that got put on were "Classic" Brand.

No, I think they are monitoring me for possible study when I am tagged and bagged.
I have that arrangement with the Liver Center in Houston. There is a reason. This Liver Issue is called PBC (Primary Biliary Cirrhosis), and one person in 10,000 gets it. Out of 100 people who get PBC (that's 100 out of 1,000,000), only 2 of them will be Male. So only two out of a million people who get PBC are men. Not many Liver Specialists ever get to see a Male with PBC. That makes getting an opportunity to "study" (to use YOUR term) a reason for doing all kinds of special things.

Like when I first was found to have this condition, they were amenable to provide care, and meds for free. It also was an occasion to try experimental stuff. And they were quite interested in being able to have the body for study.

My attitude was that they were somehow mistaken.

Normally, when someone gets this malady, and it finally gets to the point of HAVING to seek medical attention, the condition will have progressed to where it is fatal in about five months.

Walter Peyton, the football player got the sister disease to PBC which is called PSC (Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis), and he died in five months.

The difference in the two diseases is that PSC affects the Veins and Ducts going TO and FROM the Liver. PBC affects the Veins and Ducts INSIDE the Liver.

The reason that I didn't die in five months was because I wasn't seeking medical attention because of the disease. I was seeking a Hip Replacement because of having been in a murdercycle crash. Then when they did the lab work to determine what is called Prothrombin Time (that how fast blood will clot), they found that mine was elevated.

ProTime is a function of the Liver. So they did the Liver Function Tests and found anti-nuclear, and anti-mitochondrial antibodies.

When these anti-bodies are destroying the nucleus, and mitochondria of the Liver Parenchyma (tissue), it releases a couple of enzymes into the blood stream.

One is called AST (Aspartate Transferase), the other is called ALT (Alanine Transferase).

My ALT and AST were elevated. AHA! Liver Disease!!! Going to die in five months! BUT... they found this just as it had started... Not because I was feeling bad. Thus the therapy was especially effective, and I didn't die.

So what you are saying is that by using state MEDICAID, they will take your possessions after death to settle the account?
Not "possessions". Just real estate.

I knew that if you came into money that they would require immediate payback but not after death.
What has to be remembered is that Government is just a Business. Business principles apply.

Luckily, I only have MEDICARE to worry about. Thanks for that revelation.
Well, the Texas Medicare is WONDROUS. It pays for EVERYTHING that Medicare doesn't pay for. Plus it pays everything that MEDICARE charges. Plus it pays for Meds, except for the cost that the Pharmacy charges for the little plastic bottles, labels, and the filling of the little plastic bottles.

But the Liver Center in Houston monitors my condition with monthly Blood Tests.

I have OpenOffice Spread Sheets with Monthly Blood Test Results going back to November of 1998. Have done the research into what each test is for. I know as much about this disease as do the MDeities. PLUS, I know how it FEELS, which they don't. I've learned to use the proper terms, and I've become more of a "colleague" than just a "patient".

Anyway, time to go feed the Felines, and get on with the day. Am going to install Lorrie Van Haul's Sheet Metal Center Section between her Diamond Deck Plate Fenders this morning while it's cool.

Hope you are well. Enjoy the KNOCKERS!
