The fingers are only adjusted when mounted to the flywheel with the clutch disk in place. All fingers need to have the same adjustment. You can use either a 5/8 inch or 11/16 inch measurement for the adjustment. The adjustment is measured from the back of the pressure plate to the finger. Place a bar across the back of the pressure plate and measure from the bottom of the bar to the finger...
I do not believe you can adjust the fingers on a bench unless it is bolted to a flywheel....
