Default Re: Fuel filter placement

Electric inline fuel pumps should have a course (+/-100 micron) filter before and a finer +/-40 micron after and close to the engine. There are many billet aluminum reusable filters with cleanable SS filter screens available today that eliminate any worry about glass, plastic or cheap metal construction, and alcohol fuels. My choice is Holley/Earls. They come in several sizes, colors and fitting configurations. A bit pricey, but you never have to replace them, and you can easily keep track of any dirt/foreign material that enters your system.

I use a shut off valve at the tank, then a 100 m filter, pump, and 40 m filter near the carb(s).
