For my 39 pickup, somebody previously did the instal. Waterline from the passenger head plug and the driver side bottom hose. Water shut off is on the passenger side at the head. Even with the hose shutoff off, hot water gets into the heater and the cab gets too hot.
So I wire-tied a short section of smaller hose on the water line just to have it handy. In the summer the hoses to the heater are removed from the heater and run together.
