That is the correct way to do it.
In my picture, the blue wire should go up over the timer to the 10 o'clock terminal, the green wire should go to the terminal where the blue wire is in the picture - 4:00 o'clock. That puts the blue wire behind the spark control rod when it is installed.
I should have done more research before starting this thread, but now I know!
