If I make a fist over the Model A gas inlet, then collapse the spring loaded device on the pump nozzle against my fist, the gas seems to go in fine. That's why I was thinking about building something out of a newer gas filler neck; which would act like a funnel and go into the Model A gas inlet.

I suppose, pulling the spark arrestor might allow the gas to go in better; which I might try. The problem with that would filling the tank to the top, as the nozzle would down further into the tank and shutting off. Then trying to top it off would put back to the initial problem.
