In the '50s, we put a fitting in the filler plug & filled it with chassis grease, mixed with STP.
Did this on my '32 & lubed all the DRY fittings, with the same stuff---Then, DAMIT, it started to SHIMMY!--- Chief sed, "I tole you so, you wouldn't LISTEN, as USUAL"!! He DIDN'T mince his wurds---LOL
