From an engineering point of view, left-hand threads make a great deal of sense in certain applications. Anyone who has a table saw deals with left hand threads. In building an automobile, it creates additional costs and confusion. And these days, the clowns with their high-torque impact wrenches could screw you up real good, real fast.
Didn't Chrysler use left hand threads on their offerings years ago? Or is my memory faulty?
