Mine jumps a bit too! Have had it apart and the problem on mine is the trip device is hitting a bad notch on the "ones" "tens" gears. It happens!It is 88 years old and lot of people have messed with it. If I find a junk speedometer, cheep, I will try and fix this. So far it is just an annoyance if I look at it.
