My hi output clear tungsten cowl lights seem to work very well.
I am quite often waved across on LONG ISLAND by motorists stopped at traffic lights while I wait to make a left turn with my turn signals on.
I believe that's the main reason for a forward cowl lamp.
(This seems to be more often than when I am in my modern car with its LEDs.)
