Default Re: Carburetor Options

I'm running two model B carbs on two of my model A's . A larger carb or dual carbs will add a little top speed . My experience has been that a completely stock model A will run 60 MPH if in good condition and tune . Without increasing compression , no mods will make that much of an increase in power that can really be felt . I run the back carb with the GAV closed . I run the front carb with the GAV opened 1/4 turn after warm up as original . I agree that a down draft carb setup will give more performance . A down draft setup is just too easy to flood. An updraft setup doesn't flood that badly even when or if it floods . Dual updraft carbs can still use the original choke and GAV setup .
