Rusty, thank you for the detailed response. You are correct on all counts. Since every “hole” that takes a bolt is filled, I suspect these two are leftovers from a previous project that were replaced at the time. I foolishly tried to consolidate two storage cases after the engine was out. While I was able to identify most items, such as the differential carrier bolts I replaced, I put these in the engine case.
