Default Re: Remember that first Model A?

My first was an AA 280A (Ambulance) in 1955 when I was 14. Bought it for $45. It only had around 15K original miles on it. Took me about a year to even get license plates for it since Arizona DMV declared it to be a commercial vehicle, and based on it's GVW was going to cost me well over $200. And that was every year! After many, many trips to the county courthouse (where the DMV was located) and installing seats in the back, I finally got a passenger title. They actually called it on the title a "Country Squire", which some of old fogies will remember as the then top of the line Ford Station Wagon. Tags were then around $15/year, much more affordable on a paper route salary.

Like so many of us, "If I only knew what I had . . . "
