Default Re: Side Anti Rattle bumper on a 34 Rumble lid

Rather than a bumper it is a wedged-shaped rectangular piece of aluminum or zinc die casting that prevents side-to-side movement of the lid. They're at the top with rumble lids and at the bottom with deck lids and often long gone. The originals in the photo below are for '32s, but the '33-'34 versions are basically the same. The rumble lid version is on the left in the photo.


As you will surmise from the wear on the one shown, these are hard on the paint on the outside upper corner of the rumble lid when in use.
