It’s the Carter W-1 and was quite common as stock on a lot of chevys and other makes from the early 30’s to late 40’s. You’d recognize it if you saw it, that’s how common these were. They are downdraft and are apparently good for mpg. Doesn’t look to hard to fit it up and a friend gave me one the other day.

Of course most of us know about the 97’s and I also have a Weber kit ready to put on, but what I’m asking is if someone had tried a Carter or had history with it and so forth.

I do not know the cfm specs for the Weber either, just that most speak highly of them so long as they are jetted up properly for the A.
