Make sure the edge wires are not broken If they are do not weld them as they are spring steel. You can usually buy edge wire from an auto upholstery shop. Also make sure the metal spring ties are in place. When done correctly they aid the springs to work as more of a unit. NOW! do not go to the local Walmart to buy cheap foam to put in the coils. Buy quality foam and your toosh will thank you later. I usually cut the foam 2" x 2" and corkscrew each one into the coils. You want the foam going the entire length of each spring. Next take burlap or some kind of cloth and place that over the cushion. Wrap it around the edge wire and hog ring it all the way around at about the second coil of each spring. Next hog ring randomly the cloth to the tops of several coils. I won't debate cotton vs foam (your car your choice). Place that on top and then your actual seat cover.
