Sure, why not? Now, it's a 3 ohm (primary) winding coil. Normally used with 4 or 6 cylinder engines. BUT, it should work slick to run in a system that has either removed or bypassed the external resistor or ballast. I was thinking as a spare, in case the Pertronix Ignitor fails on the road. Just install points, Bosch coil, condenser and should be all set for as long as required. As you may know running points without about 3 ohms resistance in the primary circuit will roast the points quickly.

Maybe Bubba can speak to this, what they did in the 12 volt days was split the 3 ohms primary resistance, between the coil and the ballast, whether a wire or ceramic unit. While this reduces the voltage and is what people talk about or often measure the reason for this is to reduce the current flowing, through the points (or solid state module), they will burn up with too many amps.
