I have a one piece seal that's riding on a repair sleeve on a worn old pulley surface. Next time I'll take it to the lathe and true up the pulley surface so as to reduce the distortion of the sleeve.
Use silicone to fill up the spiral...
In the meantime, it works perfectly.
