One thing I'd be doing is combing through eBay, "Hot Rod" Forums, and anyplace else I could think of. You might find some one who is "Street-Rodding" a restored car (it happens more often than we would like) and is selling of the complete rolling chassis a lot cheaper than you could build one. That would be a big step forward.
