I found this, listing the original price of the Model 50 at $480.

I do inflation by the gold standard. Gold in '35 was $20 per oz, it's now (as of today) $1510.

480 / 20 = 24 oz. 24 oz X 1510 = $36,240

The current MSRP for a 2019, F150 is $32,800

But you get a lot more in 2019 for your $ but, 24 oz of gold in 1935, was still a lot of money.

My dad bought a new '39 Ford Deluxe, tudor for $680, as I remember.
