As a general rule the radios in the EFV-8's and later were dealer installed. According to the info on pages 116/117 of the 1935-36 Ford Book the closed cars had speakers mounted in the windshield header, the book also goes on to state that '35 radio's are very common in '36 Fords. The correct bolts for Ford Philco radios is shown on page 117 of the Ford Book.
My '36, a late August 36 car has the '36 lunch box style of radio, I have a '35 style of radio in my stash of parts.
I did not like the original long bolts sticking up through the cowl of my car so I cut them down. the original bolts have large heads, the same size as the head nuts so I put chrome acorn's over the nuts.. Looks a lot cleaner.
