Thanks Werner, I reviewed your thread. As someone commented, the chiseling done to my camshaft nut kept me from getting the tool onto it until I got in there with a Dremel (with flexible extension) and ground off the protruding points. I just now got the nut off with a breaker bar.
I looked at a few different solutions for locking the gear while pulling on the nut. I settled on using two short pieces of flat steel, clamped as tightly as possible on either side of the gear. Worked great.
Anyone have tips on installation of the new (laminated) gear?
