Default Re: V-8 Fords on Film

Don't know if anyone has already mentioned it here, but the general dearth of Fords in the classic films of the '30's and '40's can be directly attributed to Old Henry's anti-Semitic articles in The Dearborn Independent in the early '20's. The film studios were for the most part owned by eastern-European Jews, who did not take to kindly to this kind of nonsense. There was a boycott of Ford products during that era, which extended to the movie studios. So, you get Humphrey Bogart driving a '37 Plymouth in High Sierra, and the same dog in The Big Sleep, when we all know what he would really be driving!
