Default Re: Oil Pan

I have done it both ways. I have removed and installed pans with the inspection cover in place. It can be tight sometimes but is totally doable. It is easier and quicker to put the inspection cover on as it is easier to navigate putting in the 2 upper 1/4 fine thread cap bolts but it can be done either way. Of course the cork gasket should be replaced if the pan is removed.

I always use a little RTV at the rear corner tabs to help seal from leaks.
