What was the Ford design purpose for the 48-4044 rod, engine radius for the '37-41 pass cars. I have for years heard they were "clutch anti-chatter rods" Was that the real purpose ? In the '40 where the fan is very close to the radiator core I can see the benefit of controlling forward motion of the engine on a sudden stop. Than you Fordbarners.
