I recently lost a best bud with similar feelings. While in his battle he didn't want to be a burden (his belief) to his friends/aquaintances nor seem to seek sympathy. Gotta respect that. By the same token, it took until he was in the final days at the hospice for him to realize just how many lives he had enrichened as the many friends came to say their goodbyes. I wish he hadn't have waited to realize just how much support he had, but I get his not feeling like he was imposing. Tough call.

Marco, you've done a good thing here, I hope and pray he has the opportunity see this outpouring for the affection it is and draw strength from it.
