I suppose it sounds intimidating at first but my roadster body has been up in the air more times than a barber's chair, sometimes with the body bolts out of the elevated side, sometimes just loose, and loose on the other side, and jacked up with a plank under a cross sill. I did it most recently to install new running board shields. the carriage bolt at the back end of the shield required very little clearance to install. granted I'm uber-careful where I put my fingers while the body is elevated.
