My great uncle was a radio technician for the gas company. Back in the days before cell phones. He was a wiz with old tube type radios etc. He had an old Chevy pickup with a two way radio. Aunt Eva had one of those old fashioned looking chrome lollipop microphones on the kitchen table. If uncle Herb was somewhere out on the farm working and she needed him she could key the mike and it would blow the horn on his truck. Pretty soon he would answer her on the radio.
