I use the original generator on 12 volts with no internal modifications . The generator charges in AMPS . A six volt generator will charge a twelve volt battery in a model A with no problem . I use the Fun Projects can style voltage regulator . This voltage regulator replaces the cut out and couldn't be easier to install . I adjust the third brush for a 10 amp charge and the regulator regulates the charge as needed , much like modern cars . If a person needs to run several high draw accessories this set up may not be for you . I really like mine !!!!!!!
