That certainly could be the case. I haven’t researched the differences between original 32 shafts and the subsequent versions. I guess my point in this thread was that the shafts that were hollow were not designed or machined to accommodate grease fittings for grease to flow through the shaft internally. I know that the reproduction B-7510 shafts are solid steel.
